I was born in St. John hospital in Santa Monica, lived in Hermosa Beach for about 2 ½ years. In May of 1950 moved to Truro Ave in Hawthorne, a block from my grandparents’ home. I enrolled here at Saint Joseph School in 1954 graduating eight years later, Graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1965, earned a BA from St. John Seminary in 1969, and after one semester in Graduate school, I left the seminary. For two years I struggled with the question if I could be a good priest, I finally accepted that it was impossible for me, but with the help of the Lord, it was possible. Returning to graduate school and an MA I was ordained a priest here at St. Joseph on February 21, 1976. Each year of these 42 years has been a progression of blessings. My three assignments as Associate Pastor and five pastorates have formed me to be the pastor I am here at St. Joseph. I am very aware of the wonders of the Lord in my life. The blessings that the community has showered on me, I give thanks to the Lord for the wonders that I see each day.
