Saint Joseph Catholic Elementary School is a Transitional Kindergarten - 8th grade coeducational school in the heart of Hawthorne, CA. The parish school is a ministry of the vibrant St. Joseph Catholic Community. St. Joseph educates students in the context of a loving, faithful community with an unwavering dedication to forming the whole student.

Job Position

We are seeking a 4th Grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. St. Joseph is dedicated to the academic, spiritual, and emotional development and growth of each student. We are rooted in the traditions and teachings of our Church, and in the Gospel message of Jesus. We nurture our students in a supportive and challenging environment. The 4th grade teacher is central in the professional learning community of educators and must be a fully initiated Catholic who is active in the Sacramental life of the Church and adheres to its teachings.

Position Summary

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the unique social-emotional development of 4th grade students.

• Demonstrate knowledge of CCSS; intermediate grade curriculum; instructional strategies; and classroom management necessary for student success.

• Promote effective collaboration between staff, students, and families.

• Demonstrate an understanding of learning and teaching in a professional learning community; the ability to make thoughtful, informed decisions; and the ability to teach in an environment that demands the integration of theory and practice in a Catholic school environment.

  
  

Qualifications

The minimum requirements are:

• An undergraduate degree (BA, BS) from an accredited university or college.

• A California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a California Single Subject

• Teaching Credential, or equivalent from another state.

• 2 years full-time teaching experience.

• Ability to join a professional community of educators committed to providing a challenging standards-based curriculum in a Catholic environment of service.

• Ability to use technology effectively through the use of adaptive/assignable educational programs.

• In addition to the above, the preferred requirements are:

• An advanced degree (MA, MS) in Education.

Salary Range

$48,000 - $82,000
