This year, our Parish will have an advent book program. These advent books have the full gospel reading for each day, questions for reflection, journal pages, and a reflection by Bishop Barron. It's short, simple, but extremely powerful. It's like getting a mini-homily each morning from Bishop Barron! You can pick up your copy in the Parish Center. We only have a small number of copies so make sure to get yours right away!
Who is Bishop Barron?
Bishop Robert Barron is the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries. Bishop Barron received a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America in 1982 and a doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris in 1992. He has other advanced degrees in Humane Letters, Divinity, Sacred Theology, Religious Education, and Humanities.
Bishop Barron was ordained a priest in 1986 in the Archdiocese of Chicago, and then appointed to the theological faculty of Mundelein Seminary in 1992. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Notre Dame and at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas. He was twice scholar in residence at the Pontifical North American College at the Vatican.
He served as the Rector/President of Mundelein Seminary University of St. Mary of the Lake from 2012 until 2015.
On July 21, 2015, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Barron to be Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He was ordained bishop on September 8, 2015.

¿Quién es el Obispo Barron?

El 21 de julio de 2015, el Papa Francisco nombró al obispo Barron como obispo auxiliar de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Fue ordenado obispo el 8 de septiembre de 2015.
